2 weeks!!!

I am now down to 2 weeks until d-day! I can't believe it! I am still not dilated according to the doctor and not effaced either. My cervix is soft so that is good since that means I am making some progress. It sure is frustrating not to be dilated though. I have this feeling he will either come really really fast or I will be induced :( I am officially working from home starting today until I deliver. YAY! I couldn't be happier. I have this pressure on my pelvis that somedays hurts with every step I take. I didn't have that with Mikayla. He likes to push his butt from side to side too which is really cute..except for the elbow that pokes out my side when he does it. I am working harder on catching up on my scrapbooking now :) I actually made a lot of progress today. The dog left me alone all day which was nice for a change. Usually she is in my face! She is barking at me right now because her Kong (toy) is underneath the hutch and can't get it. It rolled under there while we were playing fetch. Poor baby!

I am also working on Austin's baby book...at least up until the birth part. I have his baby book that we bought at Target to the right spot. I should have his scrapped baby book there too except I am waiting for some pictures to be sent from Snapfish :) I am taking Mikayla trick/treating tonight at Celebration Church with Missy, Abby, and Brody. I am excited since even though I see Missy everyday when I pick up Mikayla, I don't get to hang out much. The last time we did something with the kids was going to the zoo when we still lived at our old Apartment. That seems like forever now! Anyway, I suppose I better get the dog her toy before her screaching bark drives me more insane!

Another week down

I am down to 3 1/2 weeks until my due date. I am actually feeling good today which was rare last week. I think by the end of October I will be working from home most of the time. It is really hard to make the trek into work everyday and I don't have a lot to do anyway. I have my doctor appointment tomorrow so hopefully I will find out I am dilated. It sure feels that way! My wonderful husband insulated our garage this weekend...with a little pushing :) He was so proud once he was all done. It looks great and the garage is already staying warmer :) Sunday I had lunch with Megan and he stayed home with Mikayla and mowed the lawn and puts some stuff in the shed for the winter. Everything looked great and Mikayla was excited to see me when I got home. It was nice to have 3 hours to myself for once :) I got one shelf lined in the kitchen and I hope to get them all done this coming weekend. Do you think I am nesting? Maybe....? LOL! All these last minute projects I want to do all of a sudden. It is kind of funny. I can't believe Halloween is right around the corner. We need to get a pumpkin! Maybe we can get to a pumpkin patch this coming weekend and take some more pictures. Hopefully Austin doesn't decide to ruin his sister's halloween fun :) At least someone can take her if he does.... she would be so mad if she couldn't go trick or treating. This coming Saturday is "wear your costume to class" at Dance. She is so excited to be able to do this. We will have to bring some treats for the kids :) We put the car seats in Sunday for Austin, so that is all done and we packed our hospital bag last night...well most of it. Some stuff is saved for last minute. Adam got an outfit ready and out in case I go into labor in the middle of the night. One of his favorite movies is Father of the Bride (one and two). I swear he will be just like Steve Martin...rushing around panicking! It will be cute though :)

Turning 30!

I turned 30 on Friday and it doesn't feel any different...so far. I did some major nesting on Sunday and am ready for this baby to come out! I had a horrible day at work today and couldn't stand to be here another hour if I had to. My work days aren't usually bad, but today was like working in hell. I don't understand people that think they can push other people around by bullying them. They have a low self esteem and have to make themselves feel like they are "somebody" by bullying other. Totally inappropriate, especially to a 9 month pregnant woman at work! Get a life!

Another Year Gone By

Time goes by just too darn fast some times. We have those days or weeks that we can't wait for them to end, then we have to those days/weeks (vacations most likely) that we wish we could freeze time for. It reminds me of the movie "Click". Where can I get one of those remotes, except for the after effect. Anyway, today marks my "one year Anniversary" with Adam. He is such a wonderful man and I couldn't have asked for a better husband! He is supporting, loving, and caring. I love him so much! I have watched him change and grow and become a great man. We had some ups and downs before we got married, but we worked through them and with God's help and guidance have really moved forward. He is also a wonderful father and we are expecting our little Austin to arrive anytime in the next 5 1/2 weeks!

Last night we were at the grocery store. I got there cranky and tired from struggling with a cold all day and just couldn't wait to get our stuff and leave. We arrived at Cub and I parked next to this small powder blue Toyota with two rear-facing car seats in the back (that barely fit). My first thought was "Aw...that's got to be hard." Then we went about our shopping. As we headed down the cereal isle, I noticed this extremely tall black man studying a cereal box. Thinking nothing more of it, I walked passed him to grab our cereal. We get to the checkout line a while later and this same black man was in front of us checking out. He had some milk, juice and cereal on the belt. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention once again at this, so I headed down the isle to start helping to bag some stuff. The black man had to go back for something and then ended up behind us in line. Not really sure what happened since I wasn't paying attention. Anyway, I got one bag done when Adam was done paying. I needed to sit down at this point since the grocery store walking had wore me out. Adam tells me to sit down and relax and he will take care of bagging. I sit down and start to observe. I see the tall black man is using a WIC check to pay for the items he had selected.

If you don't know what WIC is, it is a government program to assist women and children to buy things like Milk, formula, cereal (with strict fiber guidelines), juice (100% juice), etc. I know this because I was on WIC when I had Mikayla. We were very broke and couldn't afford anything...I mean even the dollar menu at McDonalds. We were even on Food Stamps and general assistance. Well, I wasn't the only one that noticed this because as we walked out of the store, Adam said to me "was he using WIC?" I said "Yes." He said "That must be embarrassing." I said "it is, especially when you get an un-experienced checker and she paws through your items and studies the back of the check to make sure you got what you were supposed to." We headed to the car and I noticed that now the blue Toyota we parked next to had these two little babies in the back seat. They were twins! One girl, one boy and the mother was sitting in the passenger seat. I quietly pointed them out to Adam "look, there are twins in that car next to us!" They were so cute as their big brown eyes watched us intently unload the cart. Adam was giving Mikayla a "fun ride" in the cart and as they got into the car, we saw the tall black man walk up to the driver's side of the blue toyota next to us. My heart sank as I saw my life 5 years ago. Adam and I weren't saying a word at this point and he pulled out his wallet and said "I only have 4 ones on me". I said "you were thinking the same thing I was". I said "I don't think I have any.....wait! I have some cash that I hid in my wallet for emergencies that I most often totally forget about". He said "you do?" I said "yeah, I never remember I have this...which is a good thing, but I do." I pulled out a $10 bill and he asked me if I wanted him to give it to them. I said "no, let me do it. One mother to another." We noticed the tall black man had gone back in again to Cub so she was alone with the babies. I opened the door and knocked on her window as she was attempting to put bib's on the babies in the back from the front seat. She opened her door, and I handed her the $10 and said "I know how it is because I have been there....(now fighting back the tears)." She said thank you and I said you are welcome and turned toward my door. She then rolled her window down and said "God bless you!" I said "you too!" I got in the car and Adam was all excited.. "what did she say" he said. I said....you heard her as I noticed he had rolled my window down too. We started to pull out and she had this huge smile on her face and was waving to us. Adam waved and smiled as did I. On the way out of the parking lot Adam turns to me and says "God helps us out so many times..... you know this is the first time I have ever really wanted to help someone." I said "really?" He said "yeah..." He was staring out the window and then he asked me if I was ok. I was fighting back tears still. I can't even type this story without fighting tears. I told Adam that when I buy those pre-filled grocery bags for $5 at Cub (they are specifically made to donate to the food shelf), that those are the families this stuff goes to. I think now he understands.

On a lighter note....we went to MN Harvest on Saturday with Adam's family (mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, cousin, and friend). That was fun! We had a little issue when we all tried to go to eat at OK Corrall afterwards, but the time spent with the family was worth the "issues". Every family has them :) I love Adam's family because they love spending time as a family...something my mom's side doesn't do.

As an update to the dishwasher situation...we finally got it in. My dad came over and lifted the counter top with a couple 2X4's and we were able to get the old one out and the new one in. It works awesome and we love it!

Adam passed his test for his Class A/CDL license and is sort of job searching right now. Not much out there that isn't asking for 2 years + experience, but we will see. Well, that's about it for now :)

Appliance Shopping

I was just looking at the last time I wrote a blog in here and I can't believe it has been that long...I guess the title of my last blog suits it well. Anyway, we went to the great Minnesota get together as they call it... AKA the State Fair on Friday. I took a day off of work and so did Adam to avoid the "weekend" crowd. It wasn't too bad especially with the threat of rain lurking around the corner. We got a little spit for about minutes, but overall it was nice. The breeze was nice too! We ate mini-donuts, cheese curds, sweet corn, foot longs, corn dogs, pickle dogs, cheese on a stick and lemonade slushies...yum! I want to go back and try some more stuff! Mikayla built a tray at the Home Depot booth and we got our family calendar at the education building. That is a yearly tradition :) We spent 10 hours walking around and I was ready to head for the car! My feet were sore, my belly was sore from carrying all that extra weight and my back felt like it was going to break in two...but all well worth it! We got home and there was this stinch coming from the kitchen. I immediately thought something was stuck in the garbage disposal, so I ran it for a minute and thought nothing more of it.

The next morning Mikayla was putting away her dirty dishes in the dishwasher when I remembered that those were clean, so I ran over there to grab hers and there was standing water in the bottem of the dishwasher. I tried to re-run the washer and it filled up with more water and then shut off. I turned the knob to change cycles to try to drain the water and nothing happened. Off to Sears we go to buy a new dishwasher. We were met by this really nice salesman, Matt. He was helpful and not too pushy wish I like. We bought a Whirlpool and he told us that someone would install it for us on Sunday. (the next day) We were supposed to get an automated call that night telling us our 2 hours window for delivery and installation. When I hadn't heard anything by 8:30 PM I called the sears number. I got pushed to the 1-800 service from the store and they told me that the installation place was closed on the weekends. The next morning I called Matt and he called me back stating the same thing and that he left a message for the installers to call me on Monday. I was also given their number.

This morning I call them to find out when they will be out and nobody would answer the phone (20 minutes after they were supposed to be opened). I called the Sears 1-800 number back again and they called them. They told Sears they had just gotten in and they got my order. They are also booked out 4-5 days for installation!!! HELLO! WTF! I said "What about your next day installation guarantee?" The lady at Sears said "well, the person you bought it from never put it in the system as a next day install/deliver". I said "yes he did! It says that on my paperwork". She said "Well, it didn't say that on the installers paperwork". Would it really matter if it said it anyway since they are booked for 4-5 days? Then she said "I can send it to a different installer if you would like". I said "yes, I need this done right away since it is stinking up my kitchen!" She said "ok, but it will take another 24 hours for the new installers to get your order so you are looking at Wed. for the soonest install. I said "WHAT!" Then she said "Well, the next day install doesn't apply to weekends, so if you buy your appliance on Saturday, they treat it like Monday and install it on Tuesday. If you buy your appliance on Sunday, they treat it like Tuesday and install it on Wed." So I guess I should have some in on Monday so I could get it installed Tuesday, then I wouldn't have had this whole hassel! Oh, and the other kicker is that there is still no guarantee that it will be installed on Wed. if that installation company is booked out too! How can you now guarantee next day installation?

Do these people really think I am that stupid? So I guess I have to call and yell and someone today which I really don't feel like doing since I am already overly tired from staying up late with Mikayla. She had growing pains two nights in a row at like 11:00...screaming in pain!

I will write the positives to the weekend later when I am feeling better about this stupid dishwasher!

Time Flies!

I can't believe it has been a little over a week since my last blog! Where did the time go? Mikayla has her 4th swimming lesson already out of 8 tonight! I can't believe it! I should start looking into the next round of lessons for next month. She is doing so great! Tuesday she jumped off the diving board by herself.. and daddy was there to watch! It was so great. She was so excited he got off work in time to see her and she was so brave. 4 out of the 6 kids jumped off by themselves. She was the first one to go.

The baby is getting more active in the belly now. He is constantly kicking and moving around. I can't believe how much of a change this is from a month ago. We need to get moving on his room. We still have boxes in there from the move and I would like to get that all cleaned out this weekend. We only have two weeks until we leave for our mini vaca. I can't wait. I think I am at the point where I need to get out of here!

Adam is coming to see me for lunch, so better get going.

A busy week!

I started Mikayla in swimming lessons and her first one was last night. I was a little nervous as there wasn't really any direction. Where to meet, what to bring (besides the obvious bathing suit and towel). I went into the girl's locker room, got her changed and ready and walked out to the pool area to wait. I checked her in and we waited. We were about 20 minutes early, so about 10-15 minutes later, I was surrounded by parents and kids of all ages. It was amazing! I didn't know how they would organize this many kids and ages. They had the parents all sit upstairs at an observation deck. It was bleachers. It was really hot! We all were sweating after 5 minutes! I couldn't wait to get out of the pool area, but I so badly wanted to watch. They took the kids around and explained the rules and safety of the pool for about 10-15 minutes. Mikayla was clearly not interested nor paying attention much. The older kids were answering all the questions and understood what was being asked.

Then they separated them all and each lifeguard/teacher took 4-5 kids. Mikayla was enrolled in the "preschool" level and I overheard one of the other parents check in their son at the same level. So I was looking for Mikayla to be in the same class. When they got called into the groups, that little boy was placed with 4 other little girls and Mikayla was placed in a different group. The kids in her group were noticably bigger and I thought "she doesn't belong in that group!"

Mikayla's group all got in the water and started bobbing up and down in the water, going under and popping back up. Mikayla wasn't having that! Pretty soon the coordinator walked over and started talking to the Mikayla's teacher. They pulled her out and escorted her over to the "preschool" group. Hello! That is why I signed her up for "preschool!" She did much better over there since they were at the same level!

When we first got there and we were waiting, Mikayla looks over at the diving board in the 10 ft. of water and says to me "mommy, are the big kids going to jump off there before the little kids?" I said "oh honey, you won't be jumping off the diving board today. You are too little for that." Wouldn't you know it....they took the group to the diving board! They had one lifeguard in the water under the diving board, and one on the diving board. Each student, one at a time, was to walk to the end. The lifeguard on the board would then come up behind them, show them what to do with their hands and then pick them up and drop them into the water. They were to grab this floatation device the lifeguard in the water was holding. It was a little nerve wrecking but as soon as Mikayla hit the water, she had the biggest smile on her face! She had no problem walking the board either. The little boy got half way down the board and didn't want to go any farther!

I am going to bring my camera tomorrow when we go back. It was so cute to watch them!

Finally Photos

From a high demand to see the u/s photos, I am posting a couple now. My printer was packed in early May, so I have one picture of the baby at 13 weeks and one at 20 weeks. I have to go back in at the end of July for another u/s because they couldn't get a good picture of the heart. The baby was in a weird position.

Here is 13 weeks:

Baby BOY!

That's right....it's a boy! One of each sounds great to me! We already have our nursery stuff picked out how we want to decorate it. It is the Pro Flyer set from Babies R' Us. It is so cute! I will work on getting the ultrasound photos scanned in and on the computer ASAP! Adam is so excited to have a boy. Of course he needed one to carry on the "Gorman" name.

I have enrolled Mikayla is swimming lessons for the month of July. She will go twice a week for 4 weeks to start out. I am hoping she will become a wonderful swimmer....unlike her mommy! I haven't told her I did that yet, but she starts next week!

My real dad and his wife are coming in to town August 7th and will be staying with us for a night. Then we are headed up to Grand Rapids on Friday to spend the weekend up there. I am excited to take a mini vaca! I really need one right now. It will also be nice to spend time with the other family I don't see very often. August is the hottest month, so hopefully grandma will have the air conditioning on!

Cooking

As you all know...I absoulutely love to cook! I am always on the hunt for a new recipe that I can try once and tweak to my own liking. Yesterday I had to go to the store after work to get stuff for breakfast and lunches during the week. I started just kind of browsing around until I noticed...and completely forgot...that some products have recipes on the labels or the back of the box. My hunt began through the noodle isle. They had a lot of recipes and each different noodle box has a different recipe. Of course the Lasagna noodle box will have a recipe for...can you guess? That's right...lasagna. But some of the other noodles have different ones. I had never boughten Mostacolli before. There was an awesome recipe on the back and seemed really easy and quick. I bought up the ingredients and headed home. I made the new meal and it was really good. A couple of changes though..... First off I love cheese on things, but this was really really cheesy! Almost too much cheese and not enough sauce. I would add more sauce and cut down on the cheese. The recipe called for Ricotta which is a really thick cheese. That was fine, but then you add an entire bag of Mozarella and Parmesan to that and you are overloaded. Also, Ricotta straight from the refrigerator is not easy to spread like it asks you to do!

I typically don't like to add anything like onions or mushrooms since I don't like them, but I don't think it would have been bad. The spaghetti sauce I used was traditional flavor, so maybe something with a kick would have been better. The only other thing that might have been good to add would be some ground hamburger or ground turkey (browned). Adam liked it and he said to me "even though it is a little over cheesy, don't stop making it". He really liked it and knew if he told me that, I would make it a mission to improve the recipe.

I am an avid watcher of Rachael Ray. I love the "30 minute meal" concept. Honestly though, do you really find that those meals only take you 30 minutes like her? Not really. She is a professional chef. Of course she can peel and cut potatoes in under 5 minutes. For someone who has kids and animals at their feet and begging for attention every night, it doesn't happen that way. I also don't have time to "pre-prep" food when I get home. Maybe once in a great while I will wash up the fruit, but that is about as far as it goes. So, I look for meals that are simple and a lot of the time are mostly cooked in the oven and require little attention. This way it doesn't feel like I am cooking for an hour because the oven is doing all the work. Casseroles are awesome! They are packed with different things and usually only require one ingredient to be cooked on the stove before being thrown together in a casserole baking dish. I really need to write a book!

Another Monday

At least it isn't a "manic Monday". HA! We had a pretty eventful weekend. Saturday we spent most of the day putting stuff in storage and clearing out some more boxes. Keith and his gf Jolene came over and installed a new car stereo for Adam. He was so excited! Then they stayed for a BBQ and bonfire. We also had Jimmy and his fiance Kelley, my uncle Danny, and our neighbors Jim and Dee. It was a lot of fun. The young ones left and us old folks stayed up until 12:30! I couldn't believe it. We went to Madeline's baptism on Sunday. We got some really good pictures...
Baptism
It was fun to see everyone and visit. Madeline is so cute and getting bigger every time I see her. We are still counting the days until Friday. I hope the U/S can show the gender and the baby doesn't hide it. We are excited to know!

I am sitting here at work listening to my slacker of a co-worker carry on about some stuff that doesn't even pertain to work. I wish I could get away with that sort of effort. The funny thing is he gets away with this every day and claims to be working on "diversity" stuff, which Wells highly supports. Ok, just needed to vent for a second.

I suppose I shouldn't really talk since I am sitting here blogging at work. :) Well, back to the grind.

Recovered

We recovered finally from our busy weekend. Erica's dance recital was fun. My camera broke after two pictures. It started showing white lines through the screen :( So Saturday morning we had to get up early to go buy a new one since I couldn't be without a camera for Mikayla's first dance recital. She was so cute! She did a great job! Father's day was really fun too. We ended up having Adam's whole family over after breakfast for a fun afternoon at our house. Then we went and got some patio furniture and then my Dad and Rhonda came over for dinner. It was a lot of fun. I have a picture of Mikayla in her dance recital...

Busy weekend ahead

This weekend is going to fly by like last weekend. We are going to be so busy. We have Erica's (Adam's little sis) dance recital on Friday night. Then we have Mikayla's dance recital on Saturday and finishing up with Father's Day on Sunday. The puppy is getting bigger and bigger everyday and is looking less like a puppy. She has a lot of energy and thinks she is a lap dog :)
Here is a picture of Shadow at 10 weeks:
Two weeks from tomorrow we find out the gender of Baby "G". I can't wait! I know it will be here quickly. I will then be half way through my pregnancy :) YAY! My tummy is getting bigger and will have to take some belly shots soon. I didn't do that with Mikayla and I kind of wish I had. For sure on the days of the ultrasounds. I heard from my grandma yesterday. She is going ok. She can't walk without a walker anymore and definitely can't drive anymore. She can't even get into a car. I am happy that she got out when she could...even the days she didn't really want to. She even told me that she was happy she did. It took a lot of convincing but it was worth it.

Adam, Mikayla, and I went out to dinner last night to Rudy's Red Eye Grill in Lakeville. Normally I wouldn't write about a dining out experience, however this one is well worth talking about. Our server's name is Kevin. I haven't had this great of a server in a long, long time! I really felt like I couldn't leave him enough for a tip. I don't usually feel like that. I typically leave 10-15% (more like 15%) as long as the server isn't horrible. I left this one more than that. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and had a great personality. Aside from the server, the food was great! I ordered the steak with smashed cheesy potatoes and green beans. It was so good! I always say the way to tell a great steak is you can eat it without steak sauce and it has lots of flavor. That was this one for sure! I had the server bring it just in case, but never touched it! The atmosphere was nice. A little dark, but very neat. They had chandeliers that had little red lamps on the top and booths with high backs for privacy. The food was a little on the pricey side. I would say more expensive than Timberlodge, but the food was better! It was definitely worth the extra money! I am planning on calling the manager today to give my rave review and make sure the waiter is recognized!

Settling In

It has been two weeks since my last blog! No WAY! Well, I guess that what happens when moving comes around. You get so busy! The house is great! No more stinky apartment living for us! Mikayla is playing outside every second she gets. Our neighbors are awesome! We live in a cul-de-sac and have met 3 of the 6 neighbors so far. The house to the right is an older couple with two grandkids around Mikayla's age. They are two girls ages 5 and 7. Mikayla plays with them during the week after pre-school when we get home. The girls are at the grandparents house during the week as they are their daycare/after school care. The house to the left is a couple that is probably late 30's to early 40's. They are hip and fun. They bought us a flower pot for the house as a "welcome" to the neighborhood. We say "hi" just about every day. The house on the other side of them is another older couple, grandparents, and have a 1 year old grandkid. The wife does alterations out of her home...good to know! They have a bonfire pit and some chairs in the middle of the circle where the men get together to talk about "manly" stuff. Adam was invited there the next time the men are "out".

We are still unpacking but it is coming along. Most of Mikayla's stuff is unpacked and she can enjoy her toys again. The puppy is getting bigger each day. Her potty training is coming along nicely. You have to watch the signs though with her! She will go hide and poop some where if you miss that warning bark.

We had Mikayla's dance dress rehearsal last night. It was so cute to see all the 3 and 4 year olds do all the different dances and all the different costumes! They were so adorable and some of them were really good. I have this cough that I just can't shake. I ended up having a coughing fit in the middle of the auditorium...how embarrassing! Then afterwards we stopped at MCD for some dinner for Mikayla. They were screwing up orders left and right! There were three guys in 5 minutes with three separate orders that went off on the guy handing out the orders. Luckily the happy meal was a simple order and made it out correctly! Then we were off to SuperTarget.

I am always on the look out for an easy main dish to make during the week that is good, yet somewhat healthy. I like to have a meat as the main dish and it is hard to find a quick and easy meat. Well, I think I have found one. Hormel makes these (see picture above), but they are in a black plastic container that you can pop into the microwave. I got the BBQ Beef Brisquit last night and it was really good. I made it along with some pasta roni and it was a great meal! It only took my about 10 minutes for the whole thing! Now that is a fast meal! They also have Beef Stroganoff and Meatloaf. They are so tasty! It still costs less than a meal at MCD for two people. It makes me want to pick up some more! I got some chicken breasts last night and am going to marinate them when I get home to slap on the grill tonight. This will be my first attempt at grilling. I am a little nervous, but I think I can handle it :)
Oh and can you believe gas it at $4.09~~~AUGH! At leas the temp is going to be 75 today and not above 80, so the windows are open! Well, back to work. We have a super busy weekend ahead with Erica's dance recital on Friday night, Mikayla's on Saturday afternoon, and Father's Day on Sunday. Whew!

3 days and counting...

We move in 3 days! I drove past our house on Saturday and our "sold" sign is up in front of the yard :) I can't wait! We had some issues with Mikayla on Friday. I got a call from the preschool that she was having issues with her bowels/bladder. I called the pediatrician that I was going to start taking her to to see if they could get me in that day (it was already after 2:00 PM). I had an appointment for June 2nd, but that was still over a week out. She couldn't wait that long anymore. The nurse told me that they were booked and short one doctor that had to leave for an emergency. She would discuss the symptoms and things with a doctor and call me back. 5 minutes later they had a time at 3:00 for me. I had 30 minutes to get to Burnsville from downtown and get my kid over to the doctor. I made no time to spare. After about an hour and a half we found out that she was full of sh**! HA! J/K. But really, she was. She had it everywhere! She had symptoms of a bladder infection, but no bacteria. After the x-ray, it showed it on both sides of her stomach and in her pelvis. It was pushing her bladder to the point it was tensing and she couldn't control it anymore. The doc put her on a bladder relaxer for 4 days and told me to get some Miralax and Enima's. I had to give her an enima on Friday night, Sunday, and possibly two more every other day. She is starting to do better now. She will probably need another one tonight.

Saturday morning Adam went to his boss's house to help put up a rock wall for the pool. He picked me and the puppy up around 3:00 since he was picking up some more material in Burnsville. We went back to Curt's house and ended up staying for dinner/BBQ. It was fun. I started coming down with a small sore throat and by Sunday morning it was full blown! Head pressure, sore throat, stomach ache, just all around sick! I was layed up all day except for the hour we went to the mall to get Mikayla some summer clothes. I had to take advantage of the Memorial Day sales! I also picked up some Sudafed at Walgreens. I took a short nap on the couch while Mikayla and Adam watched TV on the floor. Mikayla said to Adam (while I was sleeping so I am told) "Mommy is snoring really loud!" HA! That is so cute. I guess I couldn't breathe through my nose.

Monday was busy. We were behind in packing/cleaning for two days and now it was "go" time. We started in on the closets and cleaning. By the time I got done cleaning out the entire fridge and freezer, we went to my dad's for dinner. Hey, why not. We don't have much to eat at our house since it is mostly all packed! Now it is Tuesday. I have another Doc appointment for me and the baby today at 3:45. I am a little stressed and nervous today since we move in 3 days and i don't feel "ready". I will 4 months along on Thursday :) So, in a nutshell this is my life to date. :) Oh yeah, my dad also bought Rhonda a brand new 2008 motorcycle...silver w/blue flames. That so does not sound like my dad!

Just a quick "hello"

I am really tired today and yesterday. I have been sleeping all night, but I think the new puppy and the stress of moving is really starting to wear me out. We move in 10 days! I got Mikayla's dance recital tickets last night...all 8 of them for $12 a piece....you do the math! I have to call the dealership today to check on the status of my new sunroof, since it is leaking again...under warranty. I have my Junior Achievement on Thursday that I volunteered for. I will be at a Hopkins Elementary school teaching 1st graders. That is exciting. Memorial Day is monday and Tuesday marks my mom's birthday and my next Dr. appointment. I am taking the dog in on Friday morning while the guys start loading the U-haul to get her ears cropped. They will keep her all day, so that is good. She won't be a hassel for moving. At least I took the following Monday off too to get some things in order and rest. That is really all for now. Just trying to stay awake at work...getting very difficult!

New Puppy!

Well I realize that we already have a lot on our plate, but we added one more a couple days ago. We went and got a new puppy. We have been talking about getting a dog for over a year now and we decided that we wanted a Doberman. I was raised with them and they are wondeful! They are smart, friendly, and protective. We really wanted to get one with the ears cropped and the tail docked. It is hard to find that at a reasonable price! Our on-going search was leading us to a breeder 3 hours north of here at $2500 for one dog! That did not include breeding ability or full show papers. If you wanted that it would have been $3500! Way too much! Adam was ready to jump on it, but being the thrifty one that I am, I couldn't bring myself to it! Monday I was online searching through the Star Tribune classifieds and spotted one ad for doberman pups. They were born on 4/1 and the tails, dew claws, and shots were all done. They were selling for $650 for a female. Well, that is what we paid for our last Doberman 20 years ago! That was a great price! I called and left a message for the owners. When they called me back they had told me that a lady in WI was driving home from IA and was coming to get the last female black/tan that night. However, she had called on Sunday night to confirm and when the owners tried to call her back twice, they couldn't reach her. The told me to wait and they would call me back. They tried her a third time and never got a response. I was in! I had to come up that night to get the dog...first come...first serve basis. I called Adam in a panic mode to see if he could get off work early. There was no way that was happening! After several long phone calls between myself and the owner, we finally found our way to St. Croix Falls WI at about 8:45 PM. We got the dog, got the papers, and headed back home. We arrived back at home at about 10:30PM and didn't get to bed until midnight. The puppy slept in the kennel all night (well, more like whined in the kennel all night). We didn't get much sleep. Luckily I was working from home Tuesday, so I didn't have to get up early.

I still left her in the kennel most of the day as she would be if we were at work. She did a great job and only cried about three times. We named her Shadow since she follows us around like a shadow. She is very bitey since she is teething, and smells like a puppy! Mikayla and Adam adore her and she is a wonderful addition to our family. My dad came over on Tuesday night to see her and he was grinning from ear to ear. She fell asleep on him, and he fell in love. Anyway, that is the story of the puppy and I miss her already. Yesterday was hard...I was having separation anxiety from the dog! HA! Today I feel a little better, but still miss her.

Expecting

Yes, that means exactly what it says. We are expecting. We heard the heart beat last week and decided it was time to spread the news. I will be 13 weeks tomorrow and couldn't be more excited. We have our first ultrasound today along with the first trimester screening test. I am hoping I get to bring the pictures home with me. We have our next/last ultrasound appointment on June 27th. That is the day we find out the sex of the baby. We both really want to know. We are still counting down to the big move. 3 weeks and 2 days. It got me thinking about when I moved up here from FL when I was 9 months pregnant with Mikayla. That was horrible. It seems I always make my big moves when I am pregnant! HA! At least I won't be so big this time. Adam, Mikayla, and I are participating in the Race for the Cure this weekend. I have been doing this every year going on 4 years now. It is a lot of fun. Mikayla does the fun run for the kids on Saturday and Sunday is the walk for everyone. We are also getting Mikayla's dance pictures taken this evening. She looks so cute in her costume! I am still trying to decide about hair/make-up...no make-up.. maybe just a little lip gloss and blush.

May 22nd I am volunteering for Junior Achievement with my work. I go to a school in Hopkins and teach 1st graders about banking...well basic stuff. It is paid time too. I am trying to get more involved with volunteering before I get too bogged down with kids :) Well, that's all the news for now. Talk to you soon!

Our little princess

So our little princess started pre-school just over a week ago. She absolutely loves it! Every day she has a new "Jesus" story to tell me about that she learned. Yesterday I picked her up and she started singing me a bible song! It was: I may never march in the infantry
Here are the lyrics:
I may never march in the infantry, Ride in the cavalry, Shoot the artillery. I may never fly o'er the enemy, But I'm in the Lord's army. (yes, sir!) I'm in the Lord's army, (yes, sir!) I'm in the Lord's army, (yes, sir!) I may never march in the infantry, Ride in the Calvary, Shoot the artillery. I may never fly o'er the enemy, But I'm in the Lord's army. (yes, sir!)

Ok, so you have to imagine a 4 year old's voice singing this song. So adorable. Instead of of saying Lord's army, she would say "Lord's R U". I asked her "Are you sure it isn't lord's army?" She said "No mom! It is Lord's R U!"

I got to take her to the park for the first time last night and she had a blast. She was so good to go grocery shopping with me afterwards and was so excited to come home and have alone time with mommy since daddy was working still. Of course when he came home she got all excited all over again! I decided to do some volunteer work. I am volunteering through my company to go to a school on May 22nd and teach them about banking and money. I am not sure how it will all go yet as I haven't received my training leadership packet yet, but I requested to teach the 1st graders. I thought they would be more fun than 6th graders. I remember when I was a 6th grader.....oh no! All they do is make fun of you and don't listen. Anyway, it should be fun and I still get paid for it :) YAY! Two more days until my little goddaughter is 2! Oh that reminds me...I need to get her card in the mail! Well, back to work for now. I only have a half hour left until I go home.

Just a Hello

Hello everyone! There is a lot going on right now. Most of it good...just a lot going on. Well, Adam's SIL finally had their baby last night. It was a girl, born at 7:01 PM, weighing in at 7 lbs 4oz, 19 1/2 inches long. She has dark curly hair and Shannon's lips...from what we have been told. They are still deciding on the name..either Madeline or Anna. We are making the trip to the hospital tonight since they didn't want anyone there yesterday until the baby came.

We finally bought our house! We move in May 30th and 31st! I can't wait to get out of the apartment living. It sucks! No more noisy neighbors, no more broken windows, and no more cigarette smells coming from everywhere in the building! EW!

My little goddaughter is turning two in just under 2 weeks! I can't believe how big she is getting. She calls me Mimi which I absolutely love...she can't say Missy :) How adorable! I just wish they lived closer so I could see her more.

Our little princess starts pre-school on Monday! She is excited and nervous I think. She has been testing the waters with Adam everyday lately to see what she can get away with. Not much still! HA! Adam starts back to work hopefully by the 14th :) I know he is happy to start getting up early again....he he! Yeah right! Work is still...well... work. Not much new there.

2008

Wow! I can't believe I haven't written in here for a long time! Well, the wedding went really good! I did end up taking 3 anxiety pills that day and one the night before at the rehearsal dinner, but they really helped. I don't know if I would have gotten through it without those little guys! So, since the wedding we have been looking for a new place to live. We are getting out of the apartment life this year no matter what! We are looking at houses now and the market is so wonderful to buy. Our lease is up at the end of April, so we still have plenty of time to look. I am not looking forward to packing and painting the wall in my dining room back to white! AUGH! Hopefully Adam can get some boxes from Two Men and a Truck since he used to work there.

Married life is great although not much different than from before...besides now being able to buy husband/wife greeting cards :) Mikayla is getting bigger by the minute. She turned 4 in September and is doing great in her dance class! She absolutely loves going and is excited for the recital in June. I have been working on fixing my credit since the first of the year and I am happy to report that I have 2 almost 3 things paid off. They were minor but still worth cleaning up. I would much rather clean things up than file bankruptcy.

I have been hanging out with an old HS classmate (Missy) a lot lately. She is married with two kids around Mikayla's age. I love hanging out with her. We get a long so well and it seems like we are a lot alike....go figure we have the same name. I love her positive attitude all the time and I am so glad we got back in touch. We met up at the 10 year HS reunion. That was more fun we the group left and went to O'Malley's :) Remember Missy... "I used to be a cook for Perkins" HA! That was hilarious! Missy started going to church with us and joined Gold's Gym with us. We have the intention of working out together...just got to get the schedules going :) I am excited to have someone to go to church with too. I think her two kids liked it too. Abby is 6 and Brody is 3. They are so cute! Mikayla loves playing with them!

Adam's sister in law is pregnant and due in April. She is expecting a girl! The baby fever is all around us.... I threw Shannon a baby shower a couple of weeks ago and that was fun too. We went out to dinner with Shannon and Paul afterwards for some "adult time". Then we went out for Missy's birthday. I love going to Majors. They play great music and it is always busy. The best part is...no cover charge!

Well, I guess I better get back to work. I will try to write in here more and keep you posted on our life!
