Just a quick "hello"

I am really tired today and yesterday. I have been sleeping all night, but I think the new puppy and the stress of moving is really starting to wear me out. We move in 10 days! I got Mikayla's dance recital tickets last night...all 8 of them for $12 a piece....you do the math! I have to call the dealership today to check on the status of my new sunroof, since it is leaking again...under warranty. I have my Junior Achievement on Thursday that I volunteered for. I will be at a Hopkins Elementary school teaching 1st graders. That is exciting. Memorial Day is monday and Tuesday marks my mom's birthday and my next Dr. appointment. I am taking the dog in on Friday morning while the guys start loading the U-haul to get her ears cropped. They will keep her all day, so that is good. She won't be a hassel for moving. At least I took the following Monday off too to get some things in order and rest. That is really all for now. Just trying to stay awake at work...getting very difficult!

New Puppy!

Well I realize that we already have a lot on our plate, but we added one more a couple days ago. We went and got a new puppy. We have been talking about getting a dog for over a year now and we decided that we wanted a Doberman. I was raised with them and they are wondeful! They are smart, friendly, and protective. We really wanted to get one with the ears cropped and the tail docked. It is hard to find that at a reasonable price! Our on-going search was leading us to a breeder 3 hours north of here at $2500 for one dog! That did not include breeding ability or full show papers. If you wanted that it would have been $3500! Way too much! Adam was ready to jump on it, but being the thrifty one that I am, I couldn't bring myself to it! Monday I was online searching through the Star Tribune classifieds and spotted one ad for doberman pups. They were born on 4/1 and the tails, dew claws, and shots were all done. They were selling for $650 for a female. Well, that is what we paid for our last Doberman 20 years ago! That was a great price! I called and left a message for the owners. When they called me back they had told me that a lady in WI was driving home from IA and was coming to get the last female black/tan that night. However, she had called on Sunday night to confirm and when the owners tried to call her back twice, they couldn't reach her. The told me to wait and they would call me back. They tried her a third time and never got a response. I was in! I had to come up that night to get the dog...first come...first serve basis. I called Adam in a panic mode to see if he could get off work early. There was no way that was happening! After several long phone calls between myself and the owner, we finally found our way to St. Croix Falls WI at about 8:45 PM. We got the dog, got the papers, and headed back home. We arrived back at home at about 10:30PM and didn't get to bed until midnight. The puppy slept in the kennel all night (well, more like whined in the kennel all night). We didn't get much sleep. Luckily I was working from home Tuesday, so I didn't have to get up early.

I still left her in the kennel most of the day as she would be if we were at work. She did a great job and only cried about three times. We named her Shadow since she follows us around like a shadow. She is very bitey since she is teething, and smells like a puppy! Mikayla and Adam adore her and she is a wonderful addition to our family. My dad came over on Tuesday night to see her and he was grinning from ear to ear. She fell asleep on him, and he fell in love. Anyway, that is the story of the puppy and I miss her already. Yesterday was hard...I was having separation anxiety from the dog! HA! Today I feel a little better, but still miss her.

Expecting

Yes, that means exactly what it says. We are expecting. We heard the heart beat last week and decided it was time to spread the news. I will be 13 weeks tomorrow and couldn't be more excited. We have our first ultrasound today along with the first trimester screening test. I am hoping I get to bring the pictures home with me. We have our next/last ultrasound appointment on June 27th. That is the day we find out the sex of the baby. We both really want to know. We are still counting down to the big move. 3 weeks and 2 days. It got me thinking about when I moved up here from FL when I was 9 months pregnant with Mikayla. That was horrible. It seems I always make my big moves when I am pregnant! HA! At least I won't be so big this time. Adam, Mikayla, and I are participating in the Race for the Cure this weekend. I have been doing this every year going on 4 years now. It is a lot of fun. Mikayla does the fun run for the kids on Saturday and Sunday is the walk for everyone. We are also getting Mikayla's dance pictures taken this evening. She looks so cute in her costume! I am still trying to decide about hair/make-up...no make-up.. maybe just a little lip gloss and blush.

May 22nd I am volunteering for Junior Achievement with my work. I go to a school in Hopkins and teach 1st graders about banking...well basic stuff. It is paid time too. I am trying to get more involved with volunteering before I get too bogged down with kids :) Well, that's all the news for now. Talk to you soon!

Our little princess

So our little princess started pre-school just over a week ago. She absolutely loves it! Every day she has a new "Jesus" story to tell me about that she learned. Yesterday I picked her up and she started singing me a bible song! It was: I may never march in the infantry
Here are the lyrics:
I may never march in the infantry, Ride in the cavalry, Shoot the artillery. I may never fly o'er the enemy, But I'm in the Lord's army. (yes, sir!) I'm in the Lord's army, (yes, sir!) I'm in the Lord's army, (yes, sir!) I may never march in the infantry, Ride in the Calvary, Shoot the artillery. I may never fly o'er the enemy, But I'm in the Lord's army. (yes, sir!)

Ok, so you have to imagine a 4 year old's voice singing this song. So adorable. Instead of of saying Lord's army, she would say "Lord's R U". I asked her "Are you sure it isn't lord's army?" She said "No mom! It is Lord's R U!"

I got to take her to the park for the first time last night and she had a blast. She was so good to go grocery shopping with me afterwards and was so excited to come home and have alone time with mommy since daddy was working still. Of course when he came home she got all excited all over again! I decided to do some volunteer work. I am volunteering through my company to go to a school on May 22nd and teach them about banking and money. I am not sure how it will all go yet as I haven't received my training leadership packet yet, but I requested to teach the 1st graders. I thought they would be more fun than 6th graders. I remember when I was a 6th grader.....oh no! All they do is make fun of you and don't listen. Anyway, it should be fun and I still get paid for it :) YAY! Two more days until my little goddaughter is 2! Oh that reminds me...I need to get her card in the mail! Well, back to work for now. I only have a half hour left until I go home.

Just a Hello

Hello everyone! There is a lot going on right now. Most of it good...just a lot going on. Well, Adam's SIL finally had their baby last night. It was a girl, born at 7:01 PM, weighing in at 7 lbs 4oz, 19 1/2 inches long. She has dark curly hair and Shannon's lips...from what we have been told. They are still deciding on the name..either Madeline or Anna. We are making the trip to the hospital tonight since they didn't want anyone there yesterday until the baby came.

We finally bought our house! We move in May 30th and 31st! I can't wait to get out of the apartment living. It sucks! No more noisy neighbors, no more broken windows, and no more cigarette smells coming from everywhere in the building! EW!

My little goddaughter is turning two in just under 2 weeks! I can't believe how big she is getting. She calls me Mimi which I absolutely love...she can't say Missy :) How adorable! I just wish they lived closer so I could see her more.

Our little princess starts pre-school on Monday! She is excited and nervous I think. She has been testing the waters with Adam everyday lately to see what she can get away with. Not much still! HA! Adam starts back to work hopefully by the 14th :) I know he is happy to start getting up early again....he he! Yeah right! Work is still...well... work. Not much new there.

2008

Wow! I can't believe I haven't written in here for a long time! Well, the wedding went really good! I did end up taking 3 anxiety pills that day and one the night before at the rehearsal dinner, but they really helped. I don't know if I would have gotten through it without those little guys! So, since the wedding we have been looking for a new place to live. We are getting out of the apartment life this year no matter what! We are looking at houses now and the market is so wonderful to buy. Our lease is up at the end of April, so we still have plenty of time to look. I am not looking forward to packing and painting the wall in my dining room back to white! AUGH! Hopefully Adam can get some boxes from Two Men and a Truck since he used to work there.

Married life is great although not much different than from before...besides now being able to buy husband/wife greeting cards :) Mikayla is getting bigger by the minute. She turned 4 in September and is doing great in her dance class! She absolutely loves going and is excited for the recital in June. I have been working on fixing my credit since the first of the year and I am happy to report that I have 2 almost 3 things paid off. They were minor but still worth cleaning up. I would much rather clean things up than file bankruptcy.

I have been hanging out with an old HS classmate (Missy) a lot lately. She is married with two kids around Mikayla's age. I love hanging out with her. We get a long so well and it seems like we are a lot alike....go figure we have the same name. I love her positive attitude all the time and I am so glad we got back in touch. We met up at the 10 year HS reunion. That was more fun we the group left and went to O'Malley's :) Remember Missy... "I used to be a cook for Perkins" HA! That was hilarious! Missy started going to church with us and joined Gold's Gym with us. We have the intention of working out together...just got to get the schedules going :) I am excited to have someone to go to church with too. I think her two kids liked it too. Abby is 6 and Brody is 3. They are so cute! Mikayla loves playing with them!

Adam's sister in law is pregnant and due in April. She is expecting a girl! The baby fever is all around us.... I threw Shannon a baby shower a couple of weeks ago and that was fun too. We went out to dinner with Shannon and Paul afterwards for some "adult time". Then we went out for Missy's birthday. I love going to Majors. They play great music and it is always busy. The best part is...no cover charge!

Well, I guess I better get back to work. I will try to write in here more and keep you posted on our life!

Anxiety

For those of you who don't know, I suffer from anxiety attacks. With the wedding coming up in one week from tomorrow, those attacks have become more frequent lately. Depending on the severity of the attack I can have a few different reactions. A small attack will cause a stomach ache...something that I can cure by laying down and relaxing. A large attack will cause dry heaving, diarreah, and uncontrollable shakes. It will give me the feeling like I am going to pass out and they are really scary! I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and he gave me some anti-anxiety medicine. The first and last time I took it, it made me feel weird all day and extremely tired. I took it and fell back asleep for 4 1/2 hours. I really don't like taking it and am trying to avoid it.

So it seems that the issues surrounding a wedding only get worse as you get closer to the date. We have not only already replaced one bridesmaid, two groomsmen, and a personal attendant, but now we are getting a new pastor....wtf? Our pastor that we are so comfortable with and have been seeing the past 8 months has informed us 2 weeks before the wedding that he can't marry us. He has something going on with his family..not an emergency..but something he needs to be there for. Our church just got a new pastor who has agreed to marry us, however we have never met him. One of my bridesmaids informed me last week that she needs to make up 4 inches to fit in her dress...Yikes! I am a little nervous about that one. I finally got a hold of our caterer and actually met her for the first time on Tuesday. That made me feel a lot better since it has been months and a long process to get a hold of her. My Matron of Honor is flying in Thursday, only to be rushed to the tailor to get her dress altered. I hope we don't have issues around that...?? I am pretty confident with that one since she has been very responsible with losing weight and I don't think I have to worry. I just hope that everything works out. We met with our cake lady last night and she is having issues getting the color right on the buttercream. After a trip to Sweet Celebrations and some quick brainstorming, we changed the whole look of the cake. It will be a lot easier to make and still look beautiful.

Work is more hectic than usual. Kim is leaving us Wed. next week and so our work starting to double yesterday since she isn't taking any more requests. This way she can work on getting rid of the 100 that she has. I am really going to miss her because now I am stuck with the "boys". At least she will still be working downtown so I can still see her for lunch and stuff. I am really happy for her that she got a permanent position. She deserves to be with a good company and have a stable position. I know how I felt when I was offered the FTE position.
Well, back to work as much to do!
